Carol Fletcher is a photographer and writer living in Chicago. Favorite topics are travel, dogs, trees, preservation, aging, and waste.

She has photographed off-the-beaten path in Cuba since 2010, documenting the many changes there. Cuba projects include:

  • Cuba’s Entrepreneurs – Cuentapropistas
  • Cuba’s Museum Dogs – Perros de Museos
  • ANIPLANT and the need for animal welfare programs

Carol has also worked with non-profits to produce photo essays and video series for education and awareness. Projects include:

  • Photo documentary on poverty in Guatemala for The God’s Child
  • Educational videos for Kindred Spirits Animal Hospice in New Mexico
  • Documentary and awareness videos for Catahoula Rescue of New England

In Chicago, Carol photographs and writes for dog rescue groups Dogs Are Deserving Rescue and One More Dog Rescue. She is on the Board of Directors for TAP Animal Project, a U.S.-based non-profit dedicated to supporting spay/neutering at ANIPLANT in Cuba.

Carol’s Guatemala and Cuba work won recognition in the Pollux Awards in 2013. Her work has been in National Geographic Traveler, exhibited in Chicago, and published in Cuba Journal and Havana Live.
